05/20/2006 –
It has been a whirlwind month, but everything that was supposed to get done, did get done! We had work teams and projects stacked up like pancakes one on top of the other, but through God's help, everything came together in the end. Fortunately, all of the projects were centered in one location!
One project involved building a three-classroom building for an elementary school that was in a Lahu village. A small library room was added onto this building as well. Another project involved bringing clean water to the village from a mountain spring eight kilometers away. We were able to provide water from this project to the school as well.
The next item in the mix of needs had to do with laying out a sports field for the school. Rounding out the project was the all important task of putting in a four-stall washroom unit for the school complex. Needless to say, the teachers, students, and the villagers are extremely grateful for these many benefits.
A total of 30 students and professors from two Universities from the States came out to carry out the work. Although these projects are designed primarily to meet physical needs, they will have a direct impact on the Lord's work in northern Thailand. We want to thank everyone for praying with us during the implementation this project.
