Pomerado Christian Church
of Poway has teamed with First Christian, El Centro to
support Marco and Vilma Quispe.
They have three kids. John Hendee knows them from Lima. He is
a computer programmer. They have been active in their church
working in the areas of marriage and missions. |
Vilma has spent considerable time preparing to be a missionary. Marco
shares her passion to work for the Lord in missions. They also have a
photocopy and supply store and will be bringing about half of the
machines to Trujillo to put to work here.

October 2006 'The Voice' - Support and the
summit in January
Last year Pomerado Christian Church started
out on an adventure with a team of stateside "sister" churches to
help plant 10 "baby"churches all at the same time in the city of
Trujillo, Peru. We got off to a terrific start.
In addition to sending a team of 8 people to
Trujillo for 2 weeks this last summer, we have also been sending
$1,000 each month as part of our ongoing commitment to our own little
sister church pastored by Marcos and Wilma Quispe. Our Missions
Committee reports that your monthly pledges and "faith dollars" have
been coming in consistentently. Thank you for all the support. Your
donations and prayers mean so much to our fellow believers in
Peru.
Coming up in January our church wil send leaders to Phoenix for a
one-day summit meeting of all
the stateside big sister churches. Please be praying for this meeting
that our unity will be strong and the direction clear as God leads us
further on this wonderful adventure to bring new hopw to Peru.

for the oral culture. Some of the things John trained on was the
Peace Treaty and Dragon Slayers. While Pato focused on leadership and

A Visit to our sister
church
Plans are being made to take a group of short
term missionaries to Trujillo this summer. We are going with our team
church from El Centro and plan to be gone from July 13th to
23rd.
The goal of the trip is to make face to face
connections with Pastor Marco, his family, and the people of the
barrio where our sister church is being planted. Our team will be
taking hygiene and school supplies to distribute to the needy
families, helping to build a pre-fabricated metal building, and
assisting with a carnival type outreach event to help the new church
to be recognized in the barrio.
If you feel God's call to go to Peru for
these 10 days please contact Dennis Riley (858) 679-6790.
There is much to do to get our sister church planted and it will be
exciting to see how God is going to work in Trujillo!
And for an advanced look at where out group
of short term missionaries will be working, look at these exciting
photos John sent of Huanchaco Beach.

Sunday, April 23rd 2006, 6 of our team
members traveled to El Centro, to meet and worship with their
missions team that will go to Peru with us. We stayed for lunch and
got to know each other and talk about the trip. First Christian is
still putting together their team. Several weeks ago when I talked to
them they only had three people who had committed to go this year.
The number is growing and now appears they have as many as 12 or 14
who may be interested in going. We have two and a half months before
we leave and there are many unanswered questions, but I believe we
are making good progress. Once the teams are set we will be getting
together with First Christian to determine what project we will be
doing and how the teams will work together. All of our team is funded
but one and they are in the process of send out appeal letters to
raise support.
Although we will be carrying some small items
in our baggage to be left in Trujillo, we would like to ship a box of
material to Peru to provide for the ministry work.
Here are some of the suggested
projects that our missions team could be involved in and related
costs. The costs for these projects will be supported from existing
PCC mission funds and not group members.
- Carnival: $200.00
- Soccer tournament: 100.00
- Feeding the kids: 200.00
- Painting houses: 200.00
- Water tank/well 300.00
- Construction of park 600.00
- Construction of roofs 225.00 (per
house)
- Water outreach 300.00
THANK YOU for all the prayer for the
logistical needs of our mission trip, and for them to mesh together
with the team from First Christian Church so we could be an effective
tool in God's hand to help show His love to those who have not made a
decision for Jesus.
